This listing is for a Horse Rattle. The spirit of the horse is captured in this for sure! This rawhide rattle is in the shape of a horse.
There is brain=tanned deerskin around the neck with handmade organic terra cotta clay beads. Inside the clay beads are different color of horsehair. I like to think of that as representing the horses that have gone before us. The horse rattle itself is almost two toned on one side, dark toward the back and light on the front. It just seems like it is trying to represent all horses in one rattle! Powerful!
At the base of the handle is another piece of brain-tanned deerskin with more Terre cotta clay beads and some wooden beads too, with shorter fringe. there is also room to add a branding along the wood....maybe a horse's name?
The horse is about 6" X 10 1/2" and overall it is 19 1/2".
Rattles are used for many different reasons but the one I relate to the most is for cleansing. it doesn't matter whether you need to cleanse the energy in a room or yourself it is easy to use and will help you do that. The sound vibrations remove stagnant energies and create a healing and happy environment.
To most Shamans the rattles respires water and are used like rain washing down upon the body or around the room. So think of them like this and use them accordingly.
