Hello again, well it has been quite a break for my blog this time, let me tell you why.  It all started with Valentine's Day....not my favorite holiday!  My Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer on Valentines Day in 1995 and amazingly my cousin was diagnosed on the same day last year.  The past year has been very busy and there just hasn't been time for extra things like this blog.  I am happy to report that my cousin is doing great, is cancer free, and looking forward to a new year.  Time for new beginnings. Hopefully 2018 will be full of new blog posts and newsletters.

I also introduced a few new things right before Christmas.  Smudge Bowls are one of my new items.  I have had several requests for smudge packages as gifts so now I use gourds as the container for these and fill them with all kinds of goodies.  Some have leather pouches full of crystals and gemstones, some have large stones or soapstone boxes.  They each come with information on how to smudge.  I can make them up according to your specifications or I can add to an existing listing and make it personal for you.  I hope to expand on this line in the next year and offer different price points as well. 

Another new item is leather bowls.  These are cute and fun and great conversation pieces.  All different sizes and shapes.  These are all made in the summer with the help of the sun.  I try to make enough to carry through until the weather warms up again and thankfully I still have some waiting to be finished.  This is one of the items in my shop that is not available by custom order so if you see something you like, don't let it get away.  There is a special section for my leather bowls and you can follow this link.  http://www.etsy.com/shop/HollyHawkDesigns?ref=12-shopheader-name§ion_id=17484084

Gourds are back in my shop again. I missed them so I have brought them back.  They are so fun to work with that I just can't leave them alone.  I am not a fine art gourd worker....let's get that straight right off the bat!  I do think that people enjoy gourds and that sometimes just enjoying the gourd in a more natural state is the way to go.  Primitive and simple.
